Verified Purchase
Began using this with my 5-yr. old daughter within the past couple of weeks, and am very optimistic that this will, in short order, help us get her out of pull-ups once and for all! It's easy to use, works consistently, and seems like a great price compared to some of the other options.
PROS: 1) It should be plenty loud for both you and the child...my daughter is a deep sleeper, and it wakes her with no problem. It wakes me when it goes off in the next room...it does offer volume control, but we keep it all the way turned up. 2) It seems to clip VERY firmly to the underwear...I've given it a couple of good tugs after clipping it, and was impressed by it's hold. 3) The color is good for boys or girls...I plan to use it for my younger son in the future. 4) Consistency...no false alarms, but goes off as soon as it gets wet...we've had to make a trip to the bathroom to finish going potty several times. 5) Price is hard to beat for a comparable product.
CONS: 1) On/Off...would be nice if there was a way to visually confirm this WITHOUT having to touch the unit. You push the 'on/off' button, and a little light flashes once or twice to indicate if it is on or off. Easy enough when I'm putting her to bed, but when I am suddenly awoken in the middle of the night, I have a hard time remembering if it's one flash or two flashes that indicates it's on. 2) The plastic clip on the back of the unit (which is intended to clip to the neckline of PJ's) can come off of the unit fairly easily...it has the safety pin to help hold it, but 3) We haven't had any issues, and the safety pin does seem to be fairly tight (It takes a bit of strength and dexterity to open it), it does concern me to have a sharp object like this close to my daughter's neck/face.
